This post could not be more timely as Sunniva Sorby and Hilde Fålun Strøm join an international group of friends and experts around the topics of climate change, sustainability, travel, tourism, and advocacy for Arctic sea ice and wildlife .
Its an invite- only voyage that departs on September 7th from Longyearbyen Svalbard. They plan to transit overnight, and land at Bamsebu the place that they overwintered at for 19 months.
It is also the location they were able to collect data for including a very special one with Norsk Polarinstitutt and Jon Aars where they followed, a polar bear, named “VIOLET”. Polar Bears International has created a film short on this partnership with all of them and their special connection to Violet. The film will be screened soon at various film festivals.
